Students in the Spring 2016 Intercultural Communication class at the University of Dubuque raised $706.50 for Empower Nepali Girls (http://www.empowernepaligirls.org). They exceeded their goal of $340 to help two Nepali girls attend school for a year. Many thanks to the University of Dubuque Community and the patrons of The Smokestack on 62 E 7th St, Dubuque, Iowa 52001. A special thank you to Keri Schwanekamp for her remarkable leadership, and a big thank you to the owners of The Smokestack (Scott Cornwell & Susan Price) & Susan's Father for their generous donation and hospitality during the fundraiser. Great atmosphere at The Smokestack! Excellent service(www.smokestackdbq.com/). Proud of my students.
Many thanks to Prof. Sara Safari (http://www.sarasafari.com/) for sharing her amazing story with my class and providing this opportunity for students. *Photo (Screen Shot) from: www.facebook.com/events/1743257739325421/
